Mixed News

Had a lot of mixed news this month. Sadly, Ardent Dawn is canceling their Shadowtouched Anthology as they are permanently closing their 'doors' so to speak. I'm bummed out since that was a great home for Good Intentions, but the publisher said they didn't want to take away our 'First Publishing Rights', which are valuable, so I can commend that.
Around the same time, I got a rejection from Flash Fiction Online for my unpublished story, giving me personal feedback, saying I made it all the way to the final cut. It was very helpful feedback and I've never gotten a personal response from them, so that was cool, even though it was a rejection! They also said they are looking forward to publishing my reprint. :)
Also got an alert from Cast of Wonders saying my submission with them has made it to the editor too and I am still sitting on Space & Time Magazine's final consideration list. Fingers crossed!
To top it all off, I just got the news The Weather Watcher made it past finals and is now on the PageTurner Awards Longlist. Short lists are going to be announced in a couple weeks and I am holding my breath. Still in the running for best in genre and only one other Sci-Fi made it to the longlist with me. So even if I don't land a mentorship, I could still get something valuable to add to a query letter if I win that subcategory.
Man, I need to write some more shorts, but I've been so caught up with editing the main series and writing more of The Weather Watcher , submissions dwindled. I'm now dedicating my weekend to get more shorts out there and sub to more agents and publishers!
